About Sublocade

Sublocade is an injectable prescription medication used in the treatment of opioid addiction. Sublocade is administered to patients who have started addiction treatment with Suboxone or another oral form of buprenorphine which is placed under the tongue or inside the cheek.

How Long Does Sublocade Treatment Last?

As mentioned above, Sublocade is an injection which is administered once a month for addiction treatment. Once injected, Sublocade provides a consistent amount of buprenorphine throughout the month. A minimum of 26 days is required between Sublocade doses.

How Does Sublocade Work?

Much like Suboxone, Sublocade works by blocking opioid receptors in the brain, preventing other opioid drugs/medications from attaching to these receptors.
